Beginning Classes

Join us to learn Taoist Tai Chi™ taijiquan.(tai chi) - an Ancient Chinese exercise emphasizing relaxation, stretching, health improvement and stress reduction. Enjoy the many benefits of this gentle internal art.

Improve your balance, coordination, circulation, flexibility, muscle tone, posture, and have fun at the same time. There are no tests, no competition; just gentle exercise for health and recreation.

The Taoist Tai Chi Society® usually follows a three or four-month schedule for teaching the 108 movements of the Taoist Tai Chi™ set. Some classes meet for one hour, two nights a week, while other classes meet once a week for an hour and a half.

Wear comfortable, loose clothing (like you might wear for aerobics) and flat-bottomed shoes. For the first class, please arrive 15 minutes early for registration and orientation. You will learn the first few moves of the Taoist Tai Chi set and watch a demonstration.

Continuing classes begin to work on the health benefits of Taoist Tai Chiinternal arts and methods. All instructors donate their time to the society and work as volunteers. They are Nationally Certified and are required to attend national or international workshops every year, to deepen their understanding for helping students improve health and physiology.

"Continuing Practice" classes are for student who want to meet on their own and practice together.

Lok Hup Ba Fa Class

Master Moy studied this art in Hong Kong and China and has incorporated many of the internal aspects of Lok Hup into the Taoist Tai Chi set.  Older than Tai Chi, more challenging, with more dramatic turning, Lok Hup can enhance and accelerate health benefits when practiced in conjunction with Taoist Tai Chi taijiquan.

Lok Hup group on Awareness Day

The Society's Lok Hup instructors are accredited by the Guy Pang Lok Hup Society, and receive regular training at workshops to maintain their accreditation.
